Earlier this week I met a group of Welsh Baccalaureate students from Coleg Morgannwg, who were in Cardiff Bay for a tour of the National Assembly. During a question and answer session, they had queries about a number of issues, ranging from my priorities for the Rhondda, to the reconfiguration of the further and higher education sectors. It was no surprise that the topic of youth unemployment arose, and I was able to explain the Welsh Government’s recent announcement about the Jobs Growth Wales scheme, which will see 12,000 jobs created over the next three years. You can view my statement to the National Assembly about the programme here.
It is always a pleasure to meet groups of constituents from the Rhondda, so please get in touch with my constituency office if you would like us to organise a visit to the National Assembly for your community group or organisation.
